DTU or Technical University of Denmark is located in Kongens, Lyngby, right on the north of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will be hosted by DTU Management Engineering, in IDS (Industrial Dynamics and Stratgey) group at the Technology and Innovation Management divison, located on the Lyngby campus. Just an FYI, this IDS group is concerned in understanding change processes of broader innovation systems as well as empirically has a stronghold in the sectors of cleantech and energy. This PhD scholarship in Wind Energy and Society for Internal Student at the Technical University of Denmark is available for international of all nationalities and is offered for pursuing PhD program in the field of Wind Energy and Society.
The scholarship award will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The funding will be agreed with the relevant union with the period of 3 year employment. In order to be eligible, candidates must have a master’s degree in a social science related field such as human geography, science and technology studies, sustainability transition studies, planning and public participation, environmental management, design and innovation studies, anthropology, sociology, etc. or any similar degree that has an academic level equivalent to the master’s degree in any field related to social science. Furthermore, you also need to prove that your English language skills are at a high enough level in case English isn’t your first language. This is important in order to succeed in your studies.
Other than that, candidates should have a strong interest in the field of wind energy and qualitative research experience. They are expected to have proficiency in Danish language as well and knowledge about societal context and the Danish energy system.
