Manukau Institute of Technology is a huge institute of technology located in Auckland, New Zealand. It was founded in 1970 and now it has its campus in Auckland as well as an extra 8 specialized campuses throughout Auckland. The NZDE Scholarship at Manukau Institute of Technology is available for the July 2018 intake. Every scholarship is aimed to cover two years’ full tuition costs for the NZDE which amounts to $14.000. The funding is available to pursue diploma in Engineering and is open to New Zealand Pasifika or Maori descent. The objective of this scholarship is to provide Pasifika or Maori or female students not older than 25 years old with the chance to access scholarships to complete the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering. There are up to 10 scholarships that will be awarded to qualified candidates. Each scholarship is reserved for two years’ full tuition fees for the NZDE intake starting in semester 2, 2018.
In order to be considered for the scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following entrance requirements:
- Candidates must not be older than 25 years old
- Candidates must attend an interview as an important part of the selection process
- Candidates must be a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of New Zealand
- Candidates must complete the application form
- If English is not your first language, then you will be required to proof your English proficiency and it should be at a high enough level in order to succeed in your study.
How to Apply
Should you be interested in applying for the NZDE Scholarship at Manukau Institute of Technology, you must not submit your application after July 6th, 2018 or else your application will not be considered nor accepted.
Candidates must fill in the application form.

- Proof of enrolment (this could be a letter from MIT confirming enrolment or from Studylink outlining fees for program
- Personal statement
- Personal details
- Motivation to study at MIT
- Two referee names and contact details
It is important that candidates complete the application form to the best of their abilities. Once the application form is all completed, please attach the aforementioned supporting documents and submit them all.
