Istituto italiano di tecnologia or IIT is located in Genova, Italy. it is a non-profit institution which has a main goal to create and disseminate scientific knowledge as well as strengthen Italy’s technological competitiveness. This institute provides students with state-of-the-art equipment as well as a top-level interdisciplinary research environment centered on computer vision and robotics, drug discovery, neuroscience, technology and nanoscience. Offers for the IIT Research Fellowship in SOMa EU Project for International Students are open to all students who wish to pursue research at the Advanced robotics Research Line of IIT. The program will be awarded in SoMa EU project— system analysis and optimization.
All successful candidates will have the opportunity to be a part of an interdisciplinary team as well as be able to pursue research within the Soft-bodied intelligence for Manipulation (SoMa) European project in collaboration with a consortium which includes up to seven leading universities, companies and research institutes in Europe. The SoMa project has been awarded funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Program under Grant Agreement n. 645599 for Research & Innovation. All international students of all nationalities are eligible to apply.
Furthermore, applicants must fulfill the following eligibility criteria as well:
- Candidates must be highly motivated and must hold a master’s degree in Engineering
- Candidates must have background in haptics and robotics
- Candidates must have background on actuators, sensors as well as mechatronic because all of these will serve as an added bonus.
- Candidates must have prior experience in programming
- If English isn’t your first language, you must provide proof of English proficiency to help you succeed in your study.
